<p>PURPOSE: To automatically sense the size of a sheet in a sheet cassette by providing a plurality of actuators to selectively operate a plurality of switches on the printing machine body side on an edge of a sheet guide. CONSTITUTION: Sheet edge guides 36, 49 capable of being moved along slots 37, 52 in a cassette 11 are provided to receive a stack of the sheets of different length or width in the sheet cassette 11. An actuator arm 44 provided with a plurality of actuators 45 to selectively operate a plurality of switches 35 on a printed circuit board 34 on the printing machine body side is fitted to at least a sheet rear edge guide 49. When the actuator 45 operates the switch 35 to indicate one sheet size among a plurality of sheet sizes, each switch 35 generates its specific resistance in a circuit, and determines the voltage signal to be transmitted to a control device to judge the length or width of the sheet in the cassette.</p> |
