PURPOSE:To provide a power converter which can eliminate the variation of a DC voltage, reduce the vibration and noise of a motor, and reduce the capacitance of a DC-side smoothing capacitor. CONSTITUTION:A power converter is composed of an AC/DC converter CNV which converts AC power from a single-phase AC power source SUP into DC power, main smoothing capacitor Cd connected to the DC-side terminal of the converter CNV, DC active filter DC-AF which is connected in parallel with the capacitor Cd and controls a compensating current IF to absorb the variation of the power supplied from the power source SUP, and a loading device which uses the capacitor Cd as a DC voltage source. |
