PURPOSE:To easily realize the transmission and reception of an electronic mail by enabling the connection/non-connection of a portable device with an electronic mail terminal main body, and to display the content of an incoming mail as necessary by detaching the portable device. CONSTITUTION:This system is equipped with an electronic mail terminal main body 2 which operates the transmission and reception of the mail between a center 3, a portable device 1 which can be connected with the electronic mail terminal main body 2 so as to be brought into contact or non-contact with it. When the portable device 1 is connected with the electronic mail terminal main body 2, the electronic mail terminal main body 2 is line-connected with the center 3, and a received mail having the address ID of the portable device 1 is transmitted from the center 3, and stored in a reception memory 11 of the portable device 1. Then, when the portable device 1 is disconnected from the electronic mail terminal main body 2, a display processing part 14 displays the content extracted from the reception memory 11 on a display panel 10 corresponding to a display instruction. |
