<p>PURPOSE:To enhance the accuracy and strength of the guide roller which is a molded article of resin. CONSTITUTION:The guide roller 1 has a cylindrical shape, and made of polyacetal (POM). This guide roller 1 is made by injection compression molding. Resin 26 is changed into a cavity 14 of a metal mold, and is then pressed by a pressing pin 21 no compress the resin 26 in the cavity 14 in the axial direction of the guide roller 1. The full length of the finished guide roller 1 is 7.95mm, whereas a compression stroke is 1.975mm, so that a compression ratio is about 0.25. By this compression, the density of the finished gide roller 1 is 1.12g/cm<3>, which is higher than a molded article of usual ROM. The guide roller 1 can be molded according to the measurements of the metal mold by such injection compression molding. Consequently, dimensional accuracy of the guide roller 1 can be enhanced enough without any post-processing. The strength of the guide roller 1 is also enhanced.</p> |
