<p>PURPOSE:To ensure satisfactory transferability in a developing unit and to form images having high image quality over a long period of time by regulating the ratio of the fluidity of a two-component developer to that of a carrier to a specified range. CONSTITUTION:In a two-component developer contg. a carrier and a toner consisting of at least nonmagnetic colorant-contg. resin particles and an additive, the wt. average particle diameter of the toner is regulated to 3-7mum and the fluidity of the carrier is regulated to 10-16sec/50g. The fluidity of the developer is 22-55sec/50g and the ratio of the fluidity of the developer to that of the carrier is regulated to 1.8-3.7, preferably 1.9-3.6. In the case of <=1.7 at which rapid flowing is caused in a developing unit, the miscibility of the developer with a replenished toner is liable to deteriorate and fog occurs offen.</p> |
