<p>PURPOSE:To obtain the polymer excellent in surface hardness, surface lubricity, electrophotographic characteristics, and durability and suitable for electronic photographic photosensitizers, etc., by reacting a specific dihydric phenol and a specific trihydric phenol with a carbonate ester-forming compound in the presence of a specified end group-terminating agent. CONSTITUTION:A dihydric phenol of formula I [R<1>, R<2> are halogen, 1-6C alkyl, etc.; a, b are 0-4; W is O, CO, S, SO, SO2, CR<3>R<4> (R<3>, R<4> are H, trifluoromethyl, 1-6C alkyl, etc.), etc.] and a trihydric phenol of formula II (X is group of formula III, etc.) are reacted with a carbonate ester-forming compound such as phosgene in the presence of an end group-terminating agent such as a compound of formula IV [R<5> is (substituted) 1-30C perfluoroalkyl; Y is -CH2-, -CH=CH-, -CidenticalC-; e is 0-6] to obtain the objective polymer. The polymer is used as a component for photosensitizers on electroconductive substrates to obtain electrophotographic photosensitizers.</p> |
