PURPOSE:To improve the operability of a slave set of a radio pushbutton telephone set. CONSTITUTION:The telephone set is made up of a master set and a slave set 19 available of radio communication. When the master set makes data communication with a host private branch of automatic exchange 30, the master set is set to the mode operated as an extension terminal equipment of the host private branch of automatic exchange 30. An external line state signal sent from the host private branch of automatic exchange 30 is converted into a signal for a slave set in this mode and the signal is sent to the slave set 19 in a radio wave as a line idle state display signal. Thus, even when the master set is connected to an extension of the host private branch of automatic exchange, the information of an external line state of the host private branch of automatic exchange is sent to the slave set, in which the information is displayed. Thus, the user uses the slave set to confirm the state of the external line of the host private branch of automatic exchange and then makes external line dialing.
