PURPOSE:To provide a communication network for utilizing an installed cable without installing a new cable and extending the network of a telephone or the like. CONSTITUTION:Signals from a data file server 3 are modulated by the modulator 11-m of a head end 1 and transmitted to an installed CATV line 4, the transmitted signals are demodulated by a tuner provided in the end terminal 10 of the CATV line 4 and the demodulated signals are transmitted as the signals of a common mode for which a balanced line 5-1 and the balanced line 5-2 are respectively defined as one transmission line through a transformer 10-3. The signals are transmitted through the balanced lines 5-1 and 5-2 successively from the terminal (k) to the terminal 1 and transmitted from the terminal 1 to the data file server 3. In such a manner, by utilizing the free channel of the installed CATV line and the installed balanced lines 5-1 and 5-2, a ring-like network can be constituted. |
