PURPOSE:To obtain an excellent biotin-containing mixture for internal use capable of stably keeping a high-concentration solution state for a long period even under an acid region of the solution by blending polyvinyl pyrrolidone as a solubilizer with biotin, i.e., a kind of vitamin B. CONSTITUTION:Polyvinyl pyrrolidone and biotin are dissolved in an aqueous solution adjusted to a neutral or alkaline pH by an alkaline metal salt of an organic or inorganic acid and the resultant solution is subsequently acidified by an organic or inorganic acid to prepare a biotin-containing aqueous mixture for internal use. As the alkaline metal salt of the organic or inorganic acid for making the biotin solution neutral or alkaline, a sodium or potassium salt of an acid selected from citric acid, malic acid, tartaric acid, lactic acid, gluconic acid, fumaric acid, phosphoric acid and carbonic acid is used. As the organic or inorganic acid for acidifying the mixture for internal use, an acid selected from citric acid, malic acid, tartaric acid, lactic acid, gluconic acid, fumaric acid, phosphoric acid and hydrochloric acid is preferably used. |
