<p>PURPOSE:To obtain the method for correcting lost color balance due to nonuniformity in the diffraction efficiency of the hologram color filter and unmatch between the wavelength ranges of a display color cell and dispersed diffracted light. CONSTITUTION:The color balance is corrected by varying shifting or varying at least the positions or areas of openings 4R, 4G, and 4B which individually extracts only wavelength ranges corresponding to the respective colors of diffracted light spectrally diffracted by a hologram 5' or arranging at least one of a dimming filter and a wavelength band-pass filter in at least one of the openings. Consequently, the lost color balance due to the nonuniformity in the diffraction efficiency of the hologram color filter and the unmatch between the wavelength ranges of the display color cell and dispersed diffracted light can be corrected and optimum color reproduction is enabled.</p> |
