FIXING METHOD AND RECORDER

PURPOSE:To provide a method for preventing a recording paper from being stained due to the accumulation of toner sticking to a backup roller as a method for fixing a toner image on the recording paper with a fixing unit constituted of a pair of a heat roller and the backup roller. CONSTITUTION:Recording operation is intermittently performed in the case of printing a cardboard so that the toner sticking to the backup roller 22 does not accumulate. The toner stuck to the roller 22 is made to stick to the recording paper 8 so as to be removed while it is inconspicuous before it accumulates to such an extent that it stains the recording paper 8. Consequently, as to the recording method using a fixing device in which a cleaning mechanism is not provided or a simple cleaning mechanism is provided; good image quality can be kept by preventing the recording paper 8 from being stained because the toner stuck to the roller 22 is accumulated and moved to the recording paper 8.
