PURPOSE:To prevent operation stop or deterioration of the whole structure of a cell module in a power generating furnace by forming cell module from a plurality of unitary cell modules in series connections, and furnishing the terminals being led out of the furnace. CONSTITUTION:A plurality of unitary cell modules Al-An are connected in series in a power generating furnace 10 to constitute one cell module 12. From these cell modules, terminals B1-Bn+1 are led out of the furnace 10 through leads, and the amount of current flowing through each unitary module is made control table by connecting these terminals with one another or by connecting a bypass circuit between two terminals. If during long-term operation, deterioration or any failure is sensed in for example a cell module A2 in operation, a bypass circuit incl. external power supply is inserted between the plus side terminal B2 and minus side terminal B3. Propagation of the deterioration of cell module A2 can be stopped by bypassing the cell module A2 to sink the amount of the current flowing through it. |
