PURPOSE:To confirm the operating state of an original reader and a document generating device and the using state of a picture memory by storing state information of the forming device to a recording means and outputting the stored information to a display device via an output means. CONSTITUTION:A picture memory controller 10 sends/receives picture data and a control signal or the like to/from an original reader 3, a general-purpose computer 5, a communication equipment 6, or a printer section and the form of a picture data signal and the control signal is unified to provide general-purpose property to the signal and data. Each selected control signal line is used for the data and the signal, then a CPU of the memory controller 10 recognizes which equipment is connected to a picture data input terminal and a picture data output terminal and controls each equipment. The information sets as above are stored in the RAM, and various states are displayed on a CRT 211 of a display device 4 by commanding the display through the operation of a key board 206. Thus, the operating state of each equipment and the allocation state or the like is easily and visually observed and the job efficiency is improved. |
