PURPOSE:To define all the road surfaces setting an open area not forming a closed area as a set of closed areas by using a kinked line vector by selecting a graphic sequentially from one endpoint of an open polygonal line, and editing the open polygonal lines selected up to the endpoint on an opposite side as a closed area vector. CONSTITUTION:The polygonal line vector representing a topographical map to which closed graphical edit is desired to apply is read out from data memory 3, and closed graphing processing is applied to a part except for the intersection of a road or a T-shape road by an individual editing part. Such processing is continuted to perform until the edit of the closed graphic for all the roads are completed. When such processing for all the roads are completed, the closed graphing processing is applied to a part to which no closed graphing is applied and an intersection area by the individual editing part by a comprehensive editing part, then, the closed graphing processing for all the roads are completed. Therefore, it is possible to input only a boundary line in the polygonal line vector in advance and to perform the closed graphing processing on the vector. which an effect can be provided, especially when a large number of drawings are handled or processing is performed extending over a wide range. |
