PURPOSE:To obtain an antianemic agent for animals, capable of safe administration to an animal such as a piglet without a side effect and provide a method for preventing and improving animal anemia by using this agent. CONSTITUTION:An antianemic agent for animals, characteristically containing a composite material composed of dextrancarboxylic acid and an iron salt prepared according to the microbial method and a method for preventing and improving animal anemia by administrating it. A high-concentration iron is contained while securing the safety and, further, a low-viscous preparation can be obtained. This agent, therefore, can be safely administrated to an animal without causing a colored spot or a pain. This agent is low toxic and has an excellent preventive and therapeutic effect on anemia. |
