POSITION DETECTION/REGISTRATION SYSTEM FOR MOBILE TERMINAL EQUIPMENT FOR MOBILE BODY SATELLITE COMMUNICATION SYSTEM USING CIRCULATING SATELLITE

PURPOSE:To register a current position of a mobile terminal equipment independently of the circulation of a satellite by allowing a land earth station to send identification information of a concerned station via a circulation satellite and registering the identification information and unique information of a mobile terminal equipment to a land ground station via the circulation satellite when the mobile terminal equipment desired the registration. CONSTITUTION:A land earth station 2 calculates an orbit of a satellite by a high speed arithmetic operation unit 5 and sends identification information of a concerned station via a corresponding spot beam. When a mobile terminal equipment 1 moves in a service area 20 of the earth station 2, an identification ID1 of the earth station received newly and the unique information of the terminal equipment 1 are sent to the earth station 2 via a satellite 31. The earth station 2 registers the area 20 corresponding to the identification information sent from the terminal equipment 1 to a data storage device 4 together with the unique information as newest position information of the terminal equipment 1. Then the position of the terminal equipment 1 is detected by referencing the device 4.
