The system comprises a processing unit (1) receiving an acceleration measurement signal (GO). In order to facilitate calibration of the system, a non-volatile memory of the unit (1) contains the limit values of dynamic parameters of the vehicle as well as correction data. A crash detection signal is established by executing a detection programme using the correction data and the limit values.
