PURPOSE:To exactly calculate the circumference length of a label area at a high speed in real time by calculating the circumference length of the label area by calculating the number of adjacent border points in a detected local area by longitudinal, lateral and oblique directions. CONSTITUTION:The values of respective pixels are investigated in the 2X2 local areas of raster scan input data, the border of the label area is detected, it is decided whether the border points are made adjacent longitudinally, laterally or obliquely, and the numbers of the adjacent border points in those local areas are calculated by the longitudinal, lateral and oblique directions. Further, the label area to which that local area belongs is calculated. The label value is made correspondent to the address of a two-port memory 902 at a count circuit part, and the numbers of adjacent border points in the respective label areas in the respective longitudinal, lateral and oblique directions are stored. Then, the count circuit part is provided with an adder circuit 903, and the adder circuit 903 adds the respective numbers of the adjacent border points in the label areas in the longitudinal, lateral and oblique directions. |
