PURPOSE:To prevent the lift of an exposure lamp from leaking out even in the case of copying with an original platen cover opened and to prevent, in this case, an unnecessary image from being formed on the part of transfer paper, corresponding to the outside of the range of an original. CONSTITUTION:Until an original detection sensor 92 detects the original, a shield cover 91a is drawn by a cover drive unit 94 via a wire 93. When the original is detected, the shield cover 91a stops. Thus, because the part of the exposure lamp 4, corresponding to the outside of the range of the original, is shielded by the shield cover 91a, light does not leak out. The part of photo- receptor, corresponding to the outside of the range of the original, is irradiated with light by an LED which carries out size-blank based on the output of the original detection sensor 92, and an unnecessary image is not formed. |
