CLOSURE FOR CONNECTING OPTICAL FIBER CABLE

PURPOSE:To reduce the size and weight of the closure for connecting optical fiber cables by reducing the diameter of a casing of the closure without reducing the radius of curvature of the bend in the surplus length part of optical fibers in the closure. CONSTITUTION:This closure for connecting optical fiber cables is constituted by forming housing grooves (S-shaped grooves) (g) along waveform curves over the entire part of the surface of a surplus length housing sheet 1 made of a flexible synthetic resin. The height of the waveform curves of the housing grooves is specified to >=40mm and the surplus length parts (f) of the optical fibers are housed into the housing grooves. The surface of the surplus length housing sheet 1 is provided with a cover sheet 2 and the surplus length parts (f) are housed into the grooves (g) of the surplus length housing sheet 1. The surplus length housing sheet 1 is fitted in a state of rounding the sheet to a cylindrical shape (the state of a cylindrical body) into a protective outside cylinder 4 and both ends of this protective outside cylinder 4 are hermetically closed by end face plates 7.
