摘要 PURPOSE: To automatically detect a defectively colored pupil inside pictures by adopting a method for continuously evaluating picture elements by weighting and supplying the evaluation number of the color tone defect of the pupil based on the reference of a hue, lightness and saturation, etc. CONSTITUTION: Execution is performed by using a digitized scanner 10, a control and logic device 24 like a computer provided with a display device 26 and an optical disk writer 36. The acknowledged picture elements with the possibility of the color tone defect of the pupil are divided into one or more spatially adjacent groups and the respective picture elements of the divided respective groups and first evaluation numbers to the respective groups are calculated based on plural features including the size of the group, the shape of the group, a color and luminance so as to acknowledge the candidates of the group of the tone defect of the pupil. Then, second evaluation numbers to the respective picture elements are calculated relating to the respective groups of the color tone defect of the pupil based on the plural features including the size of the group, the shape of the group, the color and the luminance so as to decide the candidates of the group of the color tone defect of the pupil.
