PURPOSE:To shorten stages and to reduce a cost while maintaining the heat resistance, solvent resistance and resolution possessed by the color filters of the conventional method by imparting ink of three colors by an ink jet system to the ink receptive layer of a specific transparent substrate to form patterns and providing the patterned surface with a transparent protective film. CONSTITUTION:The surface of the transparent substrate 1 having a black matrix 2 is provided with the ink receptive layer 3. Hydroxypropyl cellulose is exemplified as the most preferable material of the ink receptive layer 3. The ink 4 of three colors R, G, B is then imparted by the ink jet system onto the formed ink receptive layer 3 in compliance with the patterns of a black matrix. Further, the desired patterns consisting of the ink 4 of the three colors R, G, B are formed and thereafter, the transparent protective film 5 is formed by coating on the ink receptive layer 3 having the patterns. |
