<p>PURPOSE:To provide a method and apparatus for measuring underground water stream., which can perform the continuous measurement of the movement of the underground water stream stably and accurately without using a tracer. CONSTITUTION:Under the state that a measuring case 1 is placed in the water and an air layer is formed at the upper part thereof, a float 2 of an insulator is floated at the central position of a measuring case 1. Four electrodes are arranged on the inner surface wall of the measuring case at the interval of 90 degrees. The four electrodes are located on the axis X and the axis Y on the X and Y plane with the cross section of the measuring case as the plane. The constant current is supplied across a pair of the electrodes X1 and X2 located on the axis X and a pair of the electrodes located on the axis Y. The position of the float is measured on time bass with the change in electric resistance between the neighboring electrodes, which is changing with the position of the float 2 in the measuring case 1. The moving direction and the speed of the float are measured as the flowing direction and the speed of the underground water stream.</p> |
