PURPOSE:To prevent the destruction of prescribed data by securing an unused area obtained by removing front and final specified areas in a storage medium from a data storage area. CONSTITUTION:A securing means is constituted by a CPU of a microcomputer form executing a document processing and the storage medium is constituted by an SRAM 103 backed up by a battery storing user data of a document file and system data. The securing means (CPU) secures the unused area (an unused area 111 at the head of a memory and an unused area 118 at the end of the memory) obtained by removing the front and final specified areas in the storage medium (SRAM 103). Thus, prescribed data is prevented from being destroyed even if a data defective area is generated in the front and final specified areas in the storage medium 103. |
