PURPOSE:To provide a separator for alkaline battery which is resistant to an electrolyte, has high electrolyte retainability, prevents short circuit caused by deposition of dendrites by using a specific crosslinked PVA microporous film as a constituting material. CONSTITUTION:A separator for alkaline battery is formed with a microporous film of crosslinked polyvinyl alcohol with a constituting unit represented by the formula (R1 shows quaternary aromatic nitrogen heterocyclic residual group, R2 shows hydrogen atom or alkoxy group, R3 shows hydrogen atom or acyl group, m is 0 or 1, and n is a natural number of 1-6). A separator formed by the lamination of the microporous film with another microporous film is stronger and easier to handle. |
