It consists in starting with two pairs of sheets 1 and 14 which will constitute the sides of the box. One or both pairs of sheets have foldable flanges 5, 15. The ends of the sheets have flaps 6, 16 which will form the end walls of the box. The pairs of sheets are applied to a mandrel 4, along which they move. During travel, lines of glue are applied to join the sheets, forming a tubular body with the edges reinforced by virtue of the glued flanges 5, 15. The boxes may be obtained from separately printed sheets which may also be of different quality and/or thickness in order to lower manufacturing costs without detracting from their strength. <IMAGE>
