<p>An automotive vehicle rack (11) is described having an adjustable securing mechanism (21) for securing cross slats (18-20) between side rails (13, 14). The securing mechanism includes a plunger (22) which is normally urged by a coil spring (37) to a protruding position in which it can register with a selected, corresponding aperture (23-26) in a side rail. An actuator slide (42) engages the pin defining the plunger to enable a user to slide the pin against the force of the spring as desired, for example, to disengage the cross slat from the side rail.</p> |
