On the lifting mechanism (31-33) a device (35,36) is arranged for measuring the lifting height. On this device is a measurement value indicator, by means of which the length of the lifting stroke is reproduced.The device (35,36) is connected to a programmable control unit (40) which is load and temp.-dependent and automatically operable at a specific loading height and covers both lifting and lowering speed. To this control unit is fed the actual values measured by the measurement value indicator.
