<p>An apparatus (1) for enhancing the environmental quality of work and living spaces is provided. The apparatus (1) combines a high efficiency particulate air filter (2) and an optional gas-adsorbent element (3) with a means for moving air (5) and a means for sound masking (6). The sound-producing means (6) are designed to improve the affective state, and thereby the task-performance, of persons working in the space being treated. The sound masking is preferably accomplished by a sound-generating device (6) which generates pink noise.</p> |
