Apparatus for controlling electrical loads

An apparatus for controlling electrical loads is proposed, in the case of which a plurality of remotely controllable changeover devices (7' to 7<n>) arranged centrally in a building are connected via lines to loads (3' to 3<n>) and switching elements (4' to 4<n>). During breakdown operation, a connected load (3) is applied to the mains voltage by means of switches provided in the changeover device (7) as a function of the switch position of an associated switching element (4). During remote control operation, the changeover device (7) transmits data concerning the switch position of the switching element (4) to a computer (20) via a data bus (19); in parallel, the changeover device (7) receives from the computer (20) switching data for switching the load (3) on and off. <IMAGE>
