The invention relates to a method and a device for driving a gas turbine, which has a turbine (1) through which there flows an oxygen-containing motive gas which expands and performs mechanical work. In this case, a fuel is fed to the motive gas and burns in the turbine (1). Special consideration is given in this case as fuel to a combustible gas, especially a gas containing hydrogen, in particular coal gas. Before being fed to the motive gas, the fuel can be used to cool a component (10, 11) of the turbine (1). The realisation of particularly high temperatures for the motive gas is possible, and the production of nitrogen oxides is very largely avoided. <IMAGE>
