<p>The invention relates to a vehicle seat with a back rest which is divided in the vertical direction, it being possible to swivel the thus created back rest parts, after a catch is released, around a vertical axis inwards towards the central longitudinal plane of the vehicle. In a vehicle seat of this type, in addition to it being possible to take up a seat position to the rear when the front seats are occupied, the rear seats can conveniently be accessed and left through the associated side door if the vertical axis is arranged at the least possible distance from the central longitudinal plane and if the swivelling movement of the back rest parts takes place one after the other in a positively controlled manner.</p> |
