Process for the preparation of a polymer solution

The invention relates to a process for the preparation of a polymer solution using waste products produced during the photochemical production of printed circuit boards, namely parts of the photoresist layer remaining unexposed, dissolved in a first alkaline developer solution, exposed parts of the photoresist layer present in a highly alkaline stripper solution and solder resist dissolved in a second alkaline developer solution. This waste is mixed together and neutralised. The solid constituents are then separated therefrom and dissolved in a polar solvent, preferably methyl ethyl ketone. The polymer solution prepared by this process is a high-quality raw material which can be converted into elastomers, thermosets, thermoplastics or decomposable plastics.
