The invention relates to a process and its realisation for the production of very accurately shaped, highly stiff and light reflectors, antennae and mirrors which can be used even under extreme conditions such as use in orbit, according to Patent 4207009.0. In an expansion of the basic patent, all fibre-reinforced ceramics (CMC) having short or continuous fibre reinforcement based on C/C, C/SiC, SiC/SiC as support material are included. Processes are described for producing high-accuracy reflecting surfaces by means of physical or chemical gas phase deposition or thermal spray technology or electrolysis and also the materials to be used for this purpose.
