The invention relates to a roller blind for a roof window of the pivot-sash type, having a shutter which is formed from lamellae (slats) and can be wound up onto, and unwound from, a winding shaft mounted rotatably in a casing (10), and having a toothed gearing mechanism which is coupled to the winding shaft and of which the drive shaft (17) can be driven manually. In the case of said roller blind, the casing (10) can be connected to the pivot sash such that it can be pivoted about an axis, which is parallel to the winding shaft, relative to the pivot arms (4) in which the pivot sash is mounted. The end section (18), assigned to the input gearwheel of the toothed gearing mechanism, of the drive shaft (17) is coupled to the input gearwheel not only in a rotationally fixed manner, but also such that it can be displaced axially relative thereto. The drive shaft (17) is mounted, at a distance from the end section (18) coupled to the input gearwheel, in a guide (21) which is to be connected in a stationary manner to the pivot arms (4), and the end section (18), coupled to the input gearwheel, of the drive shaft (17) can be pivoted relative to the section (20) mounted in the guide (21). <IMAGE>
