The apparatus is provided for cleaning the lower chamber defined in a seed-germination receptacle and in which there is an upper chamber for depositing the seed to be germinated, whilst the lower chamber is formatted as a means for the passage of air which, via a porous base which defines both chambers, reaches the seed deposited in the upper chamber. In order to carry out the cleaning of this lower chamber, the apparatus is formed by means of a pair of arms 3 mounted rotatably on a central, hollow column 2 and, mounted on said arms, in a displaceable manner, are two carriages 6 which are connected together by means of a common rack 16, all the aforesaid such that the rotation of the arms 3 and the displacement of the carriages 16, it being possible to actuate both assemblies by means of pinion systems which can be actuated by a gear-motor in both cases, provide a spraying of water via nozzles 8 provided in a frame of tubes 7 secured to the arms 3 and on projections provided on the actual carriages 6, these nozzles 8 having exits with an orientation such that they can reach both the side walls and the base and the upper part of the actual chamber to be cleaned. <IMAGE>
