The invention relates to a king pin lock for semitrailers. The king pin is used to couple the semitrailer to the semitrailer towing vehicle. A safety device is provided for the king pin which encloses the king pin in a simple fashion and therefore prevents the king pin from becoming locked in the semitrailer coupling of the semitrailer towing vehicle.
