A control sytem is disclosed for an electrical window winder for a vehicle, which control system is used to raise or lower window panes and is controlled by user-operated switches which supply electricity from the vehicle battery, or interrupt the supply, to the motor which raises or opens the relevant window pane. In order to make it possible to use switches which are cheaper than the normally used switches, in the case of which undesirable arc formation can occur and which possibly operate defectively, a combination of an overcurrent protection circuit and of an overheating protection circuit is used according to the invention.
