PURPOSE:To provide a nickel electrode for secondary battery with high initial utilization of Ni(OH)2 serving as an active material, and stabilized phenomenon as the active material in charge/discharge cycles. CONSTITUTION:A nickel electrode is formed by impregnating active material paste containing Ni(OH)2 and CoO as essential components in a current collector with three-dimensional net structure, and ZnO is supported in the active material paste so that the concentration of ZnO is increased toward the surface. The nickel electrode is manufactured in such a way that the active material paste containing Ni(OH)2 and CoO as essential components is impregnated in the current collector with three-dimensional net structure, dried and pressed, and the current collector impregnated with the paste is immersed in a ZnO dispersion solution to support the ZnO in the active material paste. |
