The invention relates to a locking device for securing adjusting positions of an actuating element. It is known to press or to screw a locking device into a bore of a housing. These solutions concurrently require a relatively thick-walled housing, in order that sufficient fastening is ensured and tilting is excluded. It is the object of the invention to propose a fastening for a locking element with which the latter is effectively held, even in thin-walled housings. According to the invention, an outer housing (2) of the locking device (1) has a securing sleeve (11) assigned to it, which is supported on a housing wall (8) and which is connected to the outer housing (2) in a positive or non-positive manner.
