The invention relates to a transport box made of plastic, consisting of a bottom and four side walls provided with ribs. It is the object of the invention to increase the stability of a box which is produced in one piece by the injection moulding process by means of the formation of hollow ribs of small cross-section, and to improve the cleaning capabilities by means of avoiding right-angled transitions of the outer sides of the ribs into the walls of the box. The invention consists in the fact that the ribs are hollow, that the ribs have curved or angular parts, that the ribs have a hole at each of their ends and that the ribs are produced according to a process in which the core of the material which is filled into the mould for the rib is blown out by letting in a compressed gas after the solidification of the rib walls. Boxes of this type are distinguished by high stability and easy cleaning capability.
