PURPOSE:To enable a ruled line to be printed even if a host device sends a printing data, divided into two or more data, to a printer, by a method wherein, when one line is printed with the data divided into units, all the stored ruled line data and the character data in respective units are developed to dots to be stored in image buffers, and the ruled line data are stored in a retreat line buffer. CONSTITUTION:The data in an unit 5 is sent to a printing code buffer 8 and also developed to dots to be stored in image buffers 12, 13. The detection of NL code leads a part of the upper ruled line in the image buffer 12 to be printed, and feeds the line by this printing; the longitudinal ruled lines for units 1 thru 5 stored in a refuge line buffer 17 to be held in the image buffer 12 while being developed to dots and to be printed and feeds the line; the information in the image buffer 13 to be printed and starts a new line; the data already developed to dots to be printed and starts a new line; the ruled line data for the unit 1 thru 5 to be read from the retreat line buffer 17 and to be stored in the image buffer 13 with being developed to dots and feeds the line. Thus, the printing of the line is accomplished. |
