A composition for use as ingredient of printing inks, which composition comprises an organic pigment and either (a) a pigment derivative having an empirical formula (I) in the acid form: <CHEM> Wherein D is a residue of an organic pigment other than azo R<1> and R<2> are the same or different and each is selected from hydrogen or an unsaturated aliphatic, saturated aliphatic or aromatic hydrocarbon group having 1 to 20 carbon atoms, m is a number of from 0 to 3 and n is a number of from 1 to 4, provided that m+n is from 1 to 5 and provided that R<1> and R<2> are not both hydrogen, or (b) a mono- , di- or trivalent metal or monoamine compound salt thereof.
