The invention is related to structures, elements and methods for joining one end of a tubular member to one end of at least another tubular member, both having an end connector (2) comprising a first portion (4) shaped to be attachable to the end of said tubular member. A second substantially flat portion (12) of the end connector (2) has two opposite edges (14,16) extending in the longitudinal direction of said tubular member. Notch-like recesses (18) are mutually aligned and extend from each of said edges (14,16) in a direction substantially perpendicular thereto. The width of said notch-like recesses (18) is at least equal to the thickness of the second flat portion (12). The distance between the upper and lower edges (14,16) of said second portion (12) exceeds the major outside dimension of the tubular member so that, upon assembly of the tubular members and the end connectors (2), a gap is produced between superjacent tubular members. <IMAGE> |
