An applicator for makeup use, wherein an applying portion and at least a front portion of a handle portion are made of a bundle of fibers. The bundle of fibers comprises a sheath portion and a core portion. The core portion is made of a bundle of fibers comprising a plurality of straight fibers. The sheath portion is made of thermoplastic fibers, which have crimps therein and partially adhere to each other, and wraps about the core portion. The applying portion of the applicator is made of the straight fibers of the core portion. The handle portion is made of the fibers of the core portion, the fibers of the sheath portion and a sheet-like material. The fibers of the sheath portion are thermoformed at the handle portion located near a base portion of the applying portion. The sheet-like material wraps about an outer periphery of the handle portion which periphery is not thermoformed.
