PURPOSE:To provide such a transfer material for an impact printer and a thermal printer that dimensional stability and durability are excellent by providing a transfer ink layer on one side of a biaxially oriented polyester film in which thickness, refractive index and a roughened surface are specified respectively. CONSTITUTION:A transfer material for a printer is constituted by providing a transfer ink layer on one side of a specified biaxially oriented polyester film. The specified biaxially oriented polyester film is set up to 1-15mum thickness, 10.2-16kg/mm<2> F5 value in the longitudinal direction, 1.650-1.675 refractive index in the cross direction, 0.02-1mum average roughness of a centerline on the roughened surface at least on one side and 0.2-10mum maximum height of the same roughened surface. Thereby the transfer material for an impact printer is obtained in which longitudinal tear caused by printing is prevented and plastic strain such as beating residue is small and durability is excellent. On one side, the transfer material for a thermal printer is obtained in which it is thin-walled and thermal shrinkage is small. |
