A photovoltaic cell has multiple semiconducting coatings (4, 5, 6) or gradient coatings made of metal oxides on electroconductive substrates with adjustable semiconducting properties and comprising a series of selected metal oxides. In the preferred embodiments of the invention, the cell is designed with substantially monomolecular photosensitising layers and gel-like electrolyte solutions. |
