The present invention relates to bridged oligosaccharide(s) compounds and sulfated derivatives thereof having the structure R<1>-[X<1>-R<2>]n-X<2>-R<3> wherein R<1>, R<2> and R<3> are independently one or more saccharide(s); X<1> and X<2> are independently difunctional or polyfunctional alkyl, aryl or aralkyl compounds capable of covalently joining together said saccharides; and n is an integer of zero to ten.
