PURPOSE: To carry out a uniform impregnation while saving an impregnating agent by discharging air from an absorbent web with steam and impregnating the web with the impregnating agent under respectively specified conditions. CONSTITUTION: Air is discharged from an absorbent web, particularly dry web such as a paper, with steam at a temperature above the condensation temperature of water in the web. And then this web is introduced into a bath containing an impregnable solution and cooled to a temperature below the condensation temperature of water in the web. Thereby the web difficult to be impregnated also can be easily, promptly impregnated in the bath. |
