PURPOSE:To improve storage stability by incorporating at least one hydrate of zinc salts of benzoic acid derivatives of a specified general formula as an electron accepting compd. constituting a heat-sensitive recording material with an electron donating coloring compd. CONSTITUTION:A heat-sensitive recording material contains an electron donating coloring compd. and an electron accepting compd. In this case, as the electron accepting compd., at least one hydrate of zinc salts of benzoic acid derivatives of the separately described general formula is incorporated. In addition, to prepare the hydrate of zinc salts of benzoic acid derivatives of the separately described general formula, the hydrate of zinc salts of benzoic acid derivatives of the separately described general formula is heat-treated in the presence of water. In the formula, R is a 1-4C alkyl group, a halogen atom or a nitro group. The heat-sensitive recording material with excellent storage stability can be obtd. thereby and the hydrate being useful as an electron accepting compd. can be prepd. |
